Barbara Bruce earned a degree in geology from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, in Peru and a masters degree in reservoir engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. In April 2010, she earned an MBA from the Adolfo Ibañez School of Miami. Her professional development has always been in the hydrocarbon sector.
Bruce began her professional career at Occidental Petroleum where she managed many positions and projects from the oilfields in Talara-Peru to the gas fields of Dhurnal in Pakistan.
Upon her return to Peru, Bruce participated actively in the opening of the hydrocarbon sector into the world economy.
She joined Hunt Oil Company in December 2004 as Deputy General Manager and in 2006 was appointed General Manager of PERU LNG in Lima, Peru. After five years of intense construction activity, Peru LNG began commercial operations on October 2010. In January 2011, she was appointed President and General Manager of Hunt Oil Exploration and Production Company of Peru.
Bruce is a member of the Peruvian Geological Society (SGP) and participates in the National Mining and Energy Society (SNMPE).
